8. Legal Release & Payment Agreement*

I understand and agree that neither World Carfree Network nor the host organisation SHIFT can assume any responsibility for the actions of any individual or group participating in the conference or related events during their stay in Portland or the United States of America. Neither party shall be held responsible for any eventuality that may occur in the city or the country at that time (such as natural disaster, war, attacks, accidents, theft, etc.).
Purchase of conference registration is final and non-refundable. Conference registration may be transfered from one registered guest to another in total (no partial transfer, split transfer, or shared payment). A partial refund of 80% of registration fees may be granted at the request of the registered guest prior to May 10th, 2008. A partial refund of 50% of registration fees may be granted at the request of the registered guest prior to June 1st, 2008. Only registration transactions posted prior to June 1st, 2008 are eligible for partial refund. All registration transactions posted on or after June 1st, 2008 are final and not eligible for refund.
