    Hey I'm a student at the U of MN and want to go to this conference but can't afford to go alone... is anyone else going from the twin cities? Can we get a car pool? Even just a ride back would work... I might be able to get out there with a friend who is moving to Portland but would have no way back. Let me know!!
    Also hooking up with a back yard or couch would be great too.

    Hello, if you don't get any responses you could check into Amtrak. I know they pick up in Minneapolis and go to Portland via the Empire Builder. Takes a long time but at least it's cheaper than flying. (Not to mention other positives)
